Construction is underway on a new Princess Auto store in London, Ont., making it the retailer’s second location in the city and among the largest Princess Auto stores nationwide.
“This 50,000 square foot location, almost twice the size of a typical Princess Auto store, will benefit farmers, tradespeople and DIYers in the London area,” said Mike Kivell, Princess Auto’s Vice-President of Retail Operations for Ontario.
“A second, larger location spells convenience for customers, as well as more products available,” Kivell said.
“We expect both London locations to develop a bit of their own personality, and we can’t wait to see how current and new customers respond to the second store,” he said.
Princess Auto’s product catalogue includes tools, equipment and other products in categories like Air and Power, Farm, Hand Tools, Hydraulics, Metal Fabrication, Outdoor Power Equipment, Seasonal, Shop and Garage, Surplus, Truck, Trailer and Recreational.
“Building such a large store will allow us to showcase our products in a new way,” Kivell said.
“We can showcase the full catalogue of products, and then some, with a lot of fun items on display.”
“When people walk in the door, I hope they feel that ‘wow’ factor and spend some extra time exploring everything this new location will have to offer,” he said.
It’s fitting that London is getting a second store, since London is where the company first began its journey in Ontario over 20 years ago, Kivell said.
“London was our very first store in Ontario. This market has grown over the years to a size that it needs another location,” he said.
“This community has been very supportive since we first opened and we’re happy to deepen those connections by providing another location that serves those who live in and near London,” Kivell said The new London store is scheduled to open its doors Oct. 22. at 1925 Dundas St.
