The following terms and conditions (the “Official Rules”) govern Princess Auto Ltd.’s “Mega Smasher Photo Caption Contest” promotion (the “Promotion”). The Promotion begins on May 20, 2026, at 8:00 CDT, and ends May 31, 2026, at 23:59 CDT. No purchase necessary. Participants must enter online at princessauto.com/en/caption-contest
The total value of the prizes to be won is $600, plus in-kind prizes consisting of collectors’ hats valued at $30. The odds of winning a prize are dependent on the number of entries received. The three (3) captions deemed to be the most humorous, as determined by the judges appointed by the Sponsor, will be declared the Winners on June 1, 2026, at approximately 10:00 CDT.
Contest begins May 20, 2026, at 8:00 CDT and ends May 31, 2026, at 23:59 CDT (the "Promotion Period"). Entries made outside the Promotion Period will not be eligible to win prizes, in the sole discretion of Princess Auto Ltd. (the “Sponsor”). The Sponsor reserves the right to modify, extend, suspend, or cancel the Promotion, in its sole discretion.
To enter and be eligible to win, you must be a legal resident of Canada who has reached the legal age of majority in your province or territory of residence (the "Participant"). Persons in any of the following categories are NOT eligible to participate or win prizes:
any person who, at any time on or after May 20, 2026, was or is a director, officer, or employee of the Sponsor, or its parent, subsidiaries, affiliates, franchisees, service agencies, or advertising and promotion agencies or
persons who are immediate family members (spouse, parent, child, sibling and each of their respective spouses) of or reside in the same household as any person in any of the preceding categories (i.e., live in the same household for at least 3 of the 12 months preceding the start of the Promotion Period, whether related or not).
Participants must enter online at princessauto.com/en/caption-contest by providing a caption for the indicated photo and completing the contest entry form.
By participating in this Promotion, Participant acknowledges, represents and warrants that: (i) the Entry does not contain any material that is libelous, defamatory, lewd, illicit, profane or obscene; (ii) the Entry does not violate the Terms of Use of any major social media platform; (iii) the Entry does not violate any laws, including those relating to hate speech; (iv) if applicable, any minor shown in the Entry and the submission of the Entry is made with any required consent of their parent or legal guardian.
By submitting an Entry, the Participant agrees that the Sponsor may, in their sole and absolute discretion, at any time, edit, modify or remove the Entry, in whole or in part, and may disqualify an entrant from the Contest if the Sponsor believes, in its sole and absolute discretion, that the Participant has breached any of the terms herein, including representations and warranties made above. By submitting an Entry, you further confirm that all required consent for use and publication of the Entry for the purpose of this Contest has been obtained from all required parties, including from all individuals who appear in the Entry. Upon submission of an Entry, the Entry becomes the sole property of the Sponsor.
By submitting the Entry, the entrant assigns to the Sponsor all of entrant’s right, title and interest, including copyright, in and to the Entry, via a royalty-free, irrevocable, worldwide license to use, reproduce, edit, and distribute the Entry or components thereof in any form of promotional content, including but not limited to social media, online platforms, print advertising, and marketing materials, in perpetuity. By submitting an Entry, Participant acknowledges and agrees they will not receive any further compensation or payment for the use of their photo, video, or other contents of their Entry, in these promotional efforts, and have obtained permission from any identifiable individuals featured in it. For greater certainty, Participant acknowledges that Sponsor will have the exclusive and perpetual right to use the Participant’s name, photograph or likeness, and the Entry, in any media now known or later developed in whatever ways the Sponsor may determine in its sole and absolute discretion. This includes, but is not limited to, the right to reproduce, distribute, publish, exploit, display, communicate to the public by telecommunication, transmit, broadcast and otherwise use and exploit the Entry, in whole or in part and to edit, add to, or modify the Entry in any way, all without further obligation or compensation of any kind to the entrant. By submitting the Entry, the entrant waives its “moral rights” in relation to the Entry. Upon request by the Sponsor, Participant agrees to do all further acts and provide all reasonable assurances as may reasonably be necessary or desirable to give effect to assignment of intellectual property contained in the Entry.
The Sponsor select the Promotion’s prize winners (“Winners”) using the following criteria:
Following the close of the Promotion Period, the Sponsor will select three (3) potential winners (each, a “Winner”). Winners will be selected by a panel of judges appointed by the Sponsor based on the creativity and humour of the submitted captions.
The three (3) captions deemed to be the most humorous, as determined by the judges in their sole and absolute discretion, will be declared the Winners.
At the outset of the Promotion, the maximum value of the total prizes to be won is $600 in Princess Auto gift cards (3 x $200 each) and $30 in limited-edition collector’s hats (3 x $10 each), Each winner will receive 1 $200 Princess Auto Gift Card and 1 limited edition collector’s hats (Limit of one prize per Participant.
By entering the Promotion, Participant: (i) acknowledges that the Sponsor or their directors, employees, or agents, are not responsible or liable for any warranty, representation, or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to any prize, including but not limited to its quality, mechanical condition or fitness for a particular purpose, and acknowledge that any and all warranties and/or guarantees on a prize (if any) are subject to the respective manufacturers' terms therefore, and Participant agrees to look solely to such manufacturers for any such warranty and/or guarantee; (ii) acknowledges that the Prizes are not transferable or redeemable for cash and must be accepted as awarded, with no substitutions of any kind, except by the Sponsor, who reserves the right to substitute a prize (or portion thereof) of comparable or greater value, at its sole discretion, including without limitation a cash award; and (iii) understands that to be eligible to win a Prize, they must correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question to be administered by the Sponsor, without mechanical or other aid.
All federal, provincial, and local taxes, if any, as well as any other costs and expenses associated with prize acceptance and use not specified herein as being provided are each Winner's responsibility. All prize details are at the Sponsor's sole discretion.
If a participant is initially chosen as a Winner (“Potential Winner”), they will be contacted through email and must return a completed Declaration and Release form, which includes a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question. Potential Winners may be required to furnish proof of identification in a form acceptable to the Sponsor. If the Potential Winner meets any of following conditions, they shall forfeit all rights to the Prize, and Sponsor reserves the right to select an alternate Potential Winner from all eligible remaining entries:
fails to answer the time-limited mathematical skill-testing question within the requisite time;
is found to be ineligible or not in compliance with these Official Rules;
declines or is unable to accept a Prize for any reason;
cannot be reached by the Sponsor within five (5) business days; or
the Prize sent to Potential Winner is returned as undeliverable
Allow approximately 2 to 4 weeks for verification of the winner(s) and 6 to 8 weeks for delivery of the Prize, per the contact information provided by Winner. Sponsor shall not be held responsible for any delays in awarding prizes for any reason beyond the Sponsor’s reasonable control.
By accepting a Prize, Winner agrees to: sign a release if requested; accept their prize as awarded; release Sponsor, its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from any and all liability relating to my participation in the Promotion including the awarding, receipt, and use of my prize; not make public statements, social media posts, or communications that could disparage or negatively reflect upon Sponsor; to keep confidential any non-public information about Sponsor’s operations or employees; to indemnify Sponsor against claims arising from my actions or omissions connected to the Promotion. Furthermore, Winner consents to Sponsor’s use of their name, likeness, and any materials contained in an Entry, for promotional purposes, in any media, worldwide in perpetuity without additional compensation.
By entering, Participants (i) acknowledge compliance with these Official Rules including all eligibility requirements; (ii) agree to comply with all applicable laws and regulations in their participation in the Promotion; and (iii) agree to be bound by the decisions of the Sponsor in the Sponsor’s sole discretion, which shall be final and binding in all matters relating to this Promotion. Participants who have not complied with these Official Rules are subject to disqualification and all associated entries will be void. Furthermore, Sponsor disclaims all liability for any technical issues, lost or delayed entries, or third-party claims.
Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any Participant's registration in the Promotion (and void all associated entries) or entitlement to a prize if, in the sole discretion of Sponsor, it determines or suspects that the Participant has attempted to undermine the legitimate operation of the Promotion, for example, by entering more than one time. If a dispute arises from more than one Participant regarding a mismatch in mailing or email information, the correct contact information will be validated by matching the name of the Participant in the till system, with government issued identification by submission in-person, via fax, or via email, in Sponsor’s sole discretion
As a condition of entering, Participants agree: (a) to release and hold harmless the Sponsor and each of its respective officers, directors, employees and agents from any and all liability, loss or damage incurred arising out of or connected to participating in the Promotion, the submission of Entries, or the awarding, receipt, possession, and/or use or misuse of any prize; (b) under no circumstances will the Participant be permitted to obtain awards for, and the Participant hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental, consequential, or any other damages, in relation with the Promotion; (c) all causes of action arising out of or connected with this Promotion, or any prize awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action; (d) any and all claims, judgments, and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, and in no event will Participants be entitled to receive attorneys' fees and court costs; (e) t their image, name and likeness may be used in all promotion as it relates to the contest including social media and website.
Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion, to cancel, modify or suspend this Promotion at any time if it identifies or suspects fraud, technical failures, including any network server or hardware failure, viruses, bugs, errors in programming, or any other errors or other causes corrupt the administration, security, integrity or proper play of the Promotion, in Sponsor’s sole discretion. In the event of cancellation, Sponsor reserves the right (but shall be under no obligation) to select alternate Potential Winners from among all eligible, non-suspect entries received up to time of such cancellation.
All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of the Participant and Sponsor in connection with the Promotion, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the substantive laws of the province of Manitoba without regard to Manitoba or any other conflicts of law principles. All Participants consent to the jurisdiction and venue of the province of Manitoba. The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these Official Rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. In the event that any provision is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable or illegal, these Official Rules shall otherwise remain in effect and shall be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or illegal provision were not contained herein. In particular, Sponsor’s employees are not authorized to waive, modify or amend any provision or provisions of these Official Rules in any manner whatsoever.
This Promotion is subject to all applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws.
The information you provide, including Participant’s personal information, will only be used for the administration of this Promotion, pursuant to and in compliance with Sponsor’s Privacy Policy (https://www.princessauto.com/en/privacy). Any questions, comments or complaints regarding this Promotion must be directed to the Sponsor and not to any social media network that this Promotion was advertised on.
