Some of our customers can look at a pile of parts and metal pieces, and somehow visualize something they could build. Take Jody, for instance; he “Frankenstein-ed” this project together using a variety of pieces, did a little modifying (ok, maybe a lot)… and finished with this creation. Looking at it, we’re pretty confident that it can handle just about any snow-clearing job like it was nothing!
Great project, Jody! Thanks for sharing it with us!
What is it? It’s a 4x4 ride-on snowblower driven by hydraulics. I use it for clearing the driveway and backyard.
What is the main power source for your project? (e.g. electric motor, gas engine etc.) Gas engine controlling hydraulic pumps that power the hydraulic motors to drive transmission and snowblower.
What components are used to perform the work for your project? (e.g. hydraulic cylinder(s), hydraulic motor(s), sprockets, pulleys etc.) Hydraulic pumps and motors, pulleys and v-belts, toggle switches a winch, and a linear actuator converted to rotary action.
What design/build challenges did you overcome? Lol. Many. “Frank” is constantly getting upgraded!
If you had to build it again, what would you do differently? Nothing. This was a project my dad and I did together.
Which Princess Auto location do you visit most? Prince George, BC
