Everybody knows that plants love sunshine, that’s a no-brainer. If yours have a tendency to lean towards the window and you sometimes forget to rotate them manually, you could consider making something like this to help them out.
This device helps indoor plants grow straight upwards, instead of mimicking the Leaning Tower of Pisa. On top of that, the solar panel means you won’t have to rely on an electrical outlet to get it to work. It even has a built-in USB port to charge devices!

What is it? It is a solar powered turntable. It helps to rotate indoor potted plants to ensure they get enough sunlight for better upwards growth year-round.
What is the main power source for your project? (e.g. electric motor, gas engine etc.) Solar powered DC electric motor.
How do you control your project? (e.g. hydraulic control valve(s), electric switches etc.) A simple electric switch turns the turntable on.
What components are used to perform the work for your project? (e.g. hydraulic cylinder(s), hydraulic motor(s), sprockets, pulleys etc.) It has a small gear motor with rubber roller head, a solar panel, internal power bank, electric switch, and small dual casters.
What design/build challenges did you overcome? Assembly of the unit. It was a bit of a challenge to find the proper materials.
If you had to build it again, what would you do differently? I would build multiple turntables in one unit.
